The sound is created by the vibrations from moving a mallet on the outside of the bowl. Typically Singing Bowls are made from ceramic and are a brilliant white color.
They can also be made from actual stones, or crystals, and various elements such as iron and gold which give them their healing properties and further the strength behind a vibrational sound bath.
